On Monday the organizer Nepal Sports Journalist Forum in a press conference organized at Kathmandu revealed all the 5 nominees for the people's choice award. Among the nominated players Anjan Bista is one of them. E-sewa, Nepal's first digital payment service has joined in hands as one of the voting partners for the award.
The list includes Asif Sheikh of cricket, Usha Bhandari of volleyball, Abhilasha Bista of lawn tennis and Duwana Lama of swimming.
How is the winner of people's choice award decided?
The winner of the People's Choice category will be selected by the voting of sports journalists, national coaches and supporters. Below are the weightage of the votes:
- e-sewa vote = 50 percent
- social media (facebook like) = 25 percent
- national coach = 12.5 percent
- sports journalists = 12.5 percent

It is said that the nominations of male, female, youth, coach, people's choice of the year will be announced in the coming days. Meanwhile the non-nominated categories like Lifetime, Special, Para Athlete and Asian Sports Journalist Award winners will be announced on the day of the event.
