Nepal super league 2023 season 2 | Tie-sheet, Match fixtures, format date & time

The exciting second season of Nepal Super League is all set to kick off from the last week of November this year. Organizer Nepal sports & event management private limited. on Sunday announced the official date of the competition including the tie-sheets.

Nepal Super League Season 2 to start from 24 Nov

As per the tie-sheet public by NSEM, the second season is kicking off from November 24 to January 6. It will be a 42 days tournament where a total of 9 teams excluding Biratnagar City FC will be featuring.

Biratnagar City FC not to take part in NSL S2

There's been no official statement form the BFC management. But the tie-sheet doesn't include the previous semifinalist team as the participant in this season. May be due to the financial reason or any causes Biratnagar FC could have backed themselves this season.

This time a total of 10 teams were expected to participate this season, with the addition of three more clubs from Ilam, Biratnagar & Jhapa. But after Biratnagar are out of the contest, there will be now nine teams.

NSL S2 reauction to happen on October 19

The auction for the second season of Nepal Super League was already conducted last year. But after most of the auctioned players even the marquee ones have left Nepal, re auction is happening on October 19 for building a new team. Organizer NSEM will be providing the list of players to all the franchise team by 5th October.

All the matches to be held in Dashrath Stadium this season too

Though the NSEM had made plans to held the matches of second edition of NSL outside Kathmandu, due to the current financial crisis this time too all the matches will be held in a centralized venue i.e. Dasharath Stadium Kathmandu.

NSL Auction drafted format

• Each team can sign up to 6 foreign players in their squad.
• Clubs can put their Marquee players both Nepalese or international.

Here are the players categories;

• 'A' category: NRs.3,50,000
• 'B' category: NRs.1,50,000
• 'C' category: NRs.50,000
• Expected purse of total auction amount more than NRs.25 million for 150 players (2.5 million per club).

Each club can recruit 23 players in their squad:

• 1 marque player (can be both Nepali or foreigner)
• 4 A' category
• 6 'B' category
• 5 'C' category players
• 5-6 foreign players
• 2 from talent hunt

* Note: As the previous auction has been dismissed after most of the players went abroad, the same provisions are expected to be introduced this time too in the auction.

NSL season 2 match schedule:

The first match of this edition will be played between the defending champions Kathmandu Rayzers FC & the new comers Sporting Ilam De Mechi on Friday 24 November.

Every weekend is considered as the super  Saturday which hosts two matches as day and evening matches. Though the timing has not been mentioned the evening matches will be played under the flood lights.
