Unilever Nepal for Nepalese Women's Football | ANFA's "Mission FIFA World Cup 2027/31"

Unilever Nepal has introduced themselves as the main sponsor of Nepal National women's football team.

In the presence of Youth and Sports Minister Dig Bahadur Limbu, ANFA President Pankaj Bikram Nemwang and Unilever Nepal Managing Director Amlal Mukherjee signed the MUa/agreement today in a program organized at Soaltee Hotel, Kathmandu.

As per the agreement the sponsorship deal is of 1 years where Unilever will provide provide NRs.25 lakhs i.e. NRs.2 lakhs per month for the development of Nepalese women football. This is the first time ever in Nepal any private companies had shown their interest over Nepalese women's football.

Where do ANFA invest the sponsored amounts?

ANFA will utilize the sponsored amounts in the for the betterment of facilities for the women's football which includes the accommodation, training equipment, and so on. ANFA will be aiming to utilize the money for the preparation of Asian games which will start from the September this year. Even the Nepalese team had played two friendlies against the Bangladesh travelling to Dhaka earlier this week.

Nepalese's women's football performance luring the private sectors

Nepalese women who just returned Nepal from Dhaka on Monday winning their first international title in a recently concluded FIFA International tier 1 two matches football series are getting much more appreciation. They beat the defending SAFF Women's Champion Bangladesh in the second decisive match by 4-2 in the tri breaker.

Even some of the Nepalese internationals like Sabitra Bhandari, Anjila Subba, Saru Limbu, Renuka Nagarkote, Rekha Paudel & Anita KC even played their important role in the India's top tier Hero Women's I-League. Nepalese goal machine Samba even outperformed the India's top players in terms of scoring goals and creating the chances for Gokulam Kerala FC getting them the third title in a row.

Unilever's supportive hand over ANFA'S Mission FIFA WC 2027/31 

The 8th May 2022 ANFA Ex-co meeting had decided to initiate "Mission Women's World Cup 2027/2031"earlier which has already been written in the 8th clause of the meeting's decision which had been passed by the majority. 

A committee under the coordination of ANFA vice-president Dipak Khatiwada with ANFA women's member Sarila Shrestha Maleku & Pema Dolma Lama has already been formed to work on the vision. The very mission aims for the National Women's team to qualify for the 2027/2031 FIFA world cup.
