Spanish Club CP Cacereño set to play friendly against Gandaki Province : Nepal National Team also in line

On the invitation of Lumbini peace foundation, Spanish club CP Cacereño is going to compete against Gandaki province in the second week of next Poush month. The friendly match will be held at the Pokhara International Stadium in Pokhara on the 28 & 29th December/13th & 14th of Paush. Gandaki 11 will be captained by the former captain of the Nepali National Football Team, Anil Gurung against the CP Cacereño, who plays in the 4th tier league under the Spanish Football League structure. As per reports the very players will take on the field from Gandaki province, which competed last month in the 9th National Football Games. The team may include names of famous players who have already represented Nepal national team and age-level teams.

Meanwhile there are rumors that some of the star players of the 2010 World Cup winner Spain like goalkeeper Iker Casillas and David Villa, may play from Cacereño. Some legendary players are rumoured to travel to Nepal with the Spanish outfit for the friendlies. However, Iker Casillas will not be travelling as previously rumored. CP Cacereño will arrive on December 27 in Nepal two days ahead of the match.

Also the Nepali national football team has been scheduled for two friendly matches against the very Spanish professional team CP Cacereño. The Lumbini Garden Foundation, which is working on world peace promotion, had wrote a letter on Kartik 4 asking for the support of the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) to allow the Spanish club CP Cacereño to visit Nepal at the end of December under the 'Football for Peace' campaign. According to the foundation's proposal, ANFA had given permission for two games promised support. As per their request ANFA was ready to have two matches one at Kathmandu & other at Pokhara for the Nepal National Football Team.

In addition to the friendly match that is being organized with the aim of promoting world peace and Nepali football, Lumbini Garden Foundation has planned to take the Nepali team & players to Spain in the coming days in collaboration with ANFA, make arrangements for Nepali players to practice for some time in Europe, and take the Spanish coach to Nepal to teach young children.

The visit of the Spanish club, which is considered to be the best in world football, will give the Nepalese players a chance to play with world-class players, as well as a golden opportunity for the Nepali audience to watch the game of the world's biggest stars live. It's a privilege to witness world cup stars are playing in the Nepal soil.
