A long-long await & Messi’s Argentina are the 3 times world champion after 36 long years back in 1986. Sunday night Argentine Messi had to wait a long 90’+30’ minutes to grab the title beating the defending champions France in the tiebreaker by 4-2. The 90 minutes game was full of drama. Having a comfortable lead to the 80th minutes of the game, Kylian Mbappe’s 97 seconds individual brace one from penalty & other from a rocket first touch half volley made the game level.

The extra time first half had another lead for the Argentina with an excellent piece of goal from Leonel Messi at 108’. This could have been the end of the debate but France gave their answer back in the second half of the extra time with another awarded penalty. Kylian Mbappe stroke again. This made him the only second ever player to score a world cup final hat trick after 1966. It was Geoff Hurst who scored three for England against West Germany in the 1966 Finals.

It was No.10 show in the final where Leo & Kylian battling for the world cup title alongside the golden boot race. Last but not the least the 23 years of old Mbappe won the battle of the goals bracing 8 goals in 7 matches with 2 assists throughout the competition. Despite his individual excellence the defending champions France couldn’t win it in a row.
