New Road Tim NRT, is facing against the Indonesian league 2 club Karo United today in the ongoing prestigious TYT International Invitational Club Tournament as their first match of the tournament. The match between NRT and Karo United at the Penang City Stadium in Malaysia will start at 6 pm Nepali time. Match between NRT, which finished third in the Martyrs' Memorial A Division last season, and Karo United, the Indonesian team that was promoted from League 3 to League 2 this year, is the second match of the tournament.

How much do the tournament winner get Prize money?

The winner of the competition to be held at Penang City Stadium will win a prize of 10,000 Malaysian ringgit, or about 285,000 Nepali rupees. Meanwhile, the runner-up team will win a prize of 5,000 Malaysian ringgit, or 142,000 Nepali rupees.

After playing TYT, the NRT team will embark on a tour of Thailand for three more friendly matches. Upon reaching Thailand, the team is scheduled to play three friendly matches against Thai League One Club Chonburi FC and two other Thai clubs.

NRT's historic tour to abroad:

This is probably the first time that any Nepali club has gone on a foreign tour to prepare for the Martyrs' Memorial A Division League with still many months to go. For the international tour, NRT has signed nine players from other A Division clubs. Along with Bishal Rai and Reejin Dhimal of Machhindra, Chhiring Gurung is in the team included by NRT. Three Star's Sanjok Rai, Chyasal Youth Club's Rumesh Bartaula, Sankata's Subash Gurung, Jawalakhel's Nicholas Fernandez and Gaurav Shrestha are in the team. Goalkeeper Ji Tolo Lundry is also a new player. Pujan Hona, Dipesh Ghale, Mesuke Olomou, Stephen Sameer Vinong, Shiva Gurung, Saroj Tamang, Ashok Thapa Magar have been given continuity in the team while national team members Darshan Gurung and Eric Bista are not in the team. The team is being coached by Jeevan Sinkeman, a young coach with an A-level license from AFC.

NRT's recent form:

NRT had aslo defeated Sankata by 3-2 in a friendly match at Dasaratha Stadium on Saturday before the pre-season tour of Malaysia and Thailand. In third place, last season's Martyrs' Memorial A Division League's visit to Malaysia and Thailand will be watched by the general Nepali football fans with great interest as it is always a golden opportunity for Nepali clubs busy in the domestic league to present their skills at the international level.
